I am unbelieavably excited.  For the first time in my life, I am going to be in New Orleans.  I'm spending two nights there en route to Disney World (we leave Monday) and I think I may almost be more excited about New Orleans than I am Disney World.  But as our departure date draws nigh, I'm realizing that I don't know exactly what I'd like to do while in NOLA.  I know I want to enjoy breakfast at Cafe Du Monde and perhaps enjoy a ghost tour, but that is all I know for certain so far.  So I was hoping to enlist the help of NOLA goths or those of you who have visited the city in hope that you might share your favorite, "must see" places in New Orleans with me.  Are there shops I must visit?  A bar or club I must stop by?  Restaurants I have to eat at?  A tour I should go on, sites I should visit?  Please share your knowledge with me and I will be most grateful!

What my mother thinks to be a Train Conductor pointing to the passengers
This photo was found in a box full of my Mother's photos that she took while traveling abroad with my Pop when she was in her early 20s. I found it while trying to organise her photo albums. She has double prints of this entire roll of film but has no idea who this man is and doesnt remember taking the photo. Her theory is that he is a train conductor that was on one of their trains while traveling around London. I love his expression and the fact that without context or indentification the image becomes very mysterious.
The flare on the right hand side is on the photo, and makes me think that perhaps she took this while winding the new roll onto her camera. I love the curved corners of this photo. I keep it tacked to the side of my computer and look at it regularly.
Circa 1988.

Hey everyone! It's been so long since I posted (though I continue to read everyone elses entries!) and I hope everyone is well.

First, thanks to everyone who helped me out with my queston about painting styrofoam. I opted to just use permanent markers. It was something I already had and it worked out great. I vended my first convention in October (which is why I was asking about styrofoam for my displays!) and it was a HUGE success for me. I've been slowly listing the leftovers on Etsy. Beneath the cut you'll find photos of the some of the items I made for the con. The leftovers, like I said, are on my Etsy and I'll have a link to that as well at the bottom.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

I recently found these tintypes while at a flea market in Charlotte, NC. Judging from the cloths they are mid 1800's... I love how in the first image they are all touching their cheek, which had to have been a direction from the photographer. I posted two more and

Found in a bag of old family photos my dad gave me. I don't know who she is, but apparently she meant something to my dad at one point or another. On the back it says "Jacquelin Boden (at least, I think it's Boden- the writing is very hard to read) April 20, 1974- To My Everloving David Honey" This photo is one of my favorites.
